Wasn’t Brady’s Penalty a Little Light?

Dateline Dayton — Cell phones have been in the news. Seems Tom Brady of the New England Patriots destroyed his supposedly for security reasons. How convenient. He knew the person investigating Deflategate, wanted to review the messages on his phone.

The NFL Commissioner felt his cell phone action was just cause to keep Tom’s four-game suspension. I agree. Personally, and I might be prejudiced after what they did to Pete Rose, I don’t believe the punishment was strong enough. Coach Bill Belichik should have been at least fined or even removed. He is responsible for his team at the game. The Patriots should have also been reprimanded, in some strong manner.

There is a difference between cheating and gambling. You only get a slap on the wrist for cheating, banned for gambling. I should not be surprised with everything that takes place in our world.

Hear about the man who lost his cell phone out of an airplane… and found it? Riding in a small plane, the passenger door flew open due to a pressure change. His phone tumbled out. He found it later in a farmer’s, and it worked. That reminds me of the old watch advertisement “it takes a beating and keeps on ticking”.

Then there was a dolphin that went after a boater’s cell phone. He thought it was food. Gee, Tom, you could have told the commissioner that a dolphin ate your phone for lunch.

How about the Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil the Lion a month ago in Zimbabwe? The hunter’s story sounds fishy. Why did he pay $50,000? Why were his guides arrested, if everything was legal? Come on, Doc. Turn yourself in. You did wrong. You have been in hot water before for your hunting practices.

Although killing Cecil was terrible, the outcry it has caused is interesting. Planned Parenthood is able terminate the lives of many infants on a daily basis, and few people are concerned. According to the Obama administration, everything Planned Parenthood does is legal. Time, then, for a change in the law.

Do women who have abortions at Planned Parenthood, know their infant’s body parts are being sold on the open market? Of course, Senate Democrats have given their blessing to the actions of Planned Parenthood, blocking debate on removing government funding. They must believe, there is no problem with selling infant body parts.

Planned Parenthood could eliminate the controversy by getting out of the abortion business. The name of their organization is Planned Parenthood, not Eliminate Parenthood. If, as they say, they only perform 3 percent of the abortions in this country, yet are listed as one of the top providers, eliminating the abortion business and the selling of parts should be no big deal. Let’s see if they really want to be Planned Parenthood.

I was a picky eater as a child, and I still am today. We really do need licensing for people to have children. Just this past week, there was a father in jail for beating his small son to death, an infant was left in a hot car, a decaying infant was found in a crib by the cable guy. Sad the number of children who die in the care of a person who should providing love.

You could tell me daycare centers are licensed, and look what happens there. Two children received terrible sunburns on an outing where the daycare worker failed to apply suntan lotion.

Hopefully these persons have been arrested and the daycare centers closed. Although there is no acceptable excuse, the tragedy probably was due to lack of training. If a daycare is licensed, the associates must be trained and licensed, too.

Just because a daycare has a license, , does not mean it’s competent to care for your child. The daycare does not care for your child. The person who works at the facility . provides the care for your child. Many are grossly underpaid and poorly trained for their important task.

Everyone who has a child in his or her custody, even for only an hour, should be licensed or certificated.
