The Pathetic Case of Laquan

Essentially homeless from the time he was 3 years old, it would require painful imagination to work oneself into a lather over the left-wing’s latest cause du jour:

The Chicago cop-shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.

Work-averse, intentionally undereducated, racist, congenitally angry black kids are marching. So what? They march for a living, limping from cause to cause. Horses neigh. Dogs bark. These destabilized kids, on cue, march.

Who cares?

His mom did not.

His dad did not.

Laquan – who saddled him with that name? – was not wanted by either of his parents or any of his hopelessly screwed-up relatives.

He was a ward of the state when he was killed 13 months ago.

Who cares?

A joker in Laquan’s family said he was trying to make a better life for himself, except on the night he was cut down last year:

  • Doomed Laquan was wielding a knife (probably only to cut a sandwich in half in case he accidentally encountered food)
  • And he had drugs in his system
  • And he was burglarizing cars in one of the many lousy neighborhoods of Chicago.

Who cares?

Who cares whether he was shot 16 times, as alleged, or once?

He was where he should not have been. He was armed. Enough.

Much of America, including the jack-legged Black Lives Matter movement, is talking about Laquan even though when the boy was breathing, nobody beyond his street uttered his name. He was black, and that fits the liberals’ truth-free narrative that we are a racist land.

Consider that 49 percent of Americans killed by cops during the most recent two-year period were white, 30 percent were black, 19 percent were Hispanic, 2 percent Asian and other cultures.

But these numbers don’t fit the narrative of President Obama and the nutty race-first left wing.

Who cares? I don’t.
