Vincent Kane
Special Assistant to Secretary Robert A. McDonald
Dept. of Veterans Affairs

Mr. Kane,

Veteran homelessness continues to expand, and so does the illegal occupation of Veterans land.

However, it is now our understanding that Cameron Gore, the VA’s legal expert, has forced the Shepherd of the Hills Church to vacate VA property and its unauthorized use of the Wadsworth Theatre and other facilities.

Apparently the church held a sub-agreement under the Richmark Entertainment Group, which is illegally occupying prime VA property and facilities under a bogus memorandum of understanding.

In contrast, Richmark was not one of the nine occupants adjudicated in federal court to be “unauthorized by law and therefore void,” and therefore part of the “exit strategy” listed in the VA’s so-called settlement agreement.

Nevertheless, Richmark should be forced to vacate VA property, including all of its sub-occupiers.

Correspondingly, the nine illegal occupants holding sham “enhanced sharing agreements” must vacate this federal VA property posthaste, including the city of Los Angeles and its illegal “rent free” occupation of 12 acres and notorious “public dog park.”

It has become curious as to why Mr. Gore is forcing a church off of VA land but not a public dog park and the others.

It is curious as to why U.S. Sen. Dianne  Fenstein is fervently defending the dog park on Veterans’ land but not the church, if she feels that the community is entitled to equal access to VA property, which has clearly been her longtime and staunch modus operandi, albeit a corrupt and anti-Veteran MO.

Matthew 7:6 in the New Testament of the Bible states: “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs.”

Make no mistake, Veterans’ deeded property is sacred land. Men and women who have defended our nation are the sole bona fide occupiers of these revered grounds.

At last Wednesday’s fantasyland Town Hall meeting at the Wadsworth Theatre, you kept parroting about the Victorian chapel that has fallen into disrepair, how restoration is a priority, apparently even above ending Veteran homelessness.

The long-abandoned chapel has at least five crosses on top of it and the ACLU, if consistent with its history, will challenge the restoration’s display of even one cross.

On the other hand, the ACLU remains silent about the public dog park on Veterans land in our nation’s capital for homeless Veterans, in complete contrast to their lawsuit and press releases. Moreover, the ACLU remains silent about the nine illegal occupants listed in the federal judgment that remain on VA land while the never-ending Veteran homelessness crisis remains irrelevant.

Mr. Kane, the VA’s settlement agreement secretly manipulated behind-closed-doors with your boss, Robert A. McDonald, and his close personal friends, attorneys Bobby Shriver and Ron Olson (neither is a Veteran), promises to end Veteran homelessness by the end of this year and it also promises an exit strategy for the illegal occupiers.

Under the respective and entrusted responsibility of you and Mr. Gore to end Veteran homelessness this year and to evict the illegal occupiers, Veteran homelessness has increased. So has the illegal occupation of this land.

You have both breached your public trust, failed shamefully to uphold your governmental duties to enforce the supposedly agreed-upon terms in the settlement agreement.

On behalf of the multitude of our war-injured, homeless Veterans in Los Angeles and their legally deeded land, it already is past time for you to do the honorable thing and resign before you inflict more harm.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Rosebrock
