Dateline Dayton – Last time, we were talking about two children shot in the head by their mother. They have died.
It probably is good they were called to their heavenly reward. You doubt they could have led fruitful lives after this terrible ordeal. Their mother had her first court appearance on Monday. She shot them to protect them from the evils of the world. Yes, there was one big evil in their world, her.
Eight years ago this month, I was upset with the University of Notre Dame for allowing President Obama to speak at their graduation due his stance on abortion.
To be exact, it’s how I started writing for Ari Noonan’s publication;
I met him at his father’s funeral and we discussed becoming a weekly essayist.
Well, I’m upset with Notre Dame again, for allowing graduates to walk out on Vice-President Pence’s commencement address. It’s one thing to boycott, or peacefully protest, but it is unacceptable to walk out.
No wonder is it taught in our education system. You would think college graduates, at a prestigious Catholic university would act more civilized.
They are no better than the rioters on the streets.
I hope Notre Dame will require those who walked out to take a class in respect for authority before receiving their diplomas.
I am out of my mind to think that Notre Dame will take action.
Just as the news media has plastered their pictures all over, the university will give them an honor as they did for an abortion- promoting president of the United States.
If you have ever wondered what is wrong with our country, it is our education system.
We could solve serious problems if the school system would teach respect and insist on it in the classroom and outside.
Respect for authority, respect for one another, respect for life, respect for differences of opinion. The University of Notre Dame should be a leader in this crusade.
Weather Thou Goest
Since the first of May, my friend Dan has been trying to hold a garage sale. It has been postponed for weather and other reasons each weekend.
He will try again over Memorial Day.
I have the few items that I’m selling ready, and my daughter Darlene has some items she would like to sell.
Darlene and her daughter, Heather, are traveling to Niles, MI, today, their old hometown, to work a garage sale there. I hope the weather is good. Today is also my sister Sara’s, first cancer treatment. I pray things go well for her.
Please remember our military, past and present, on this Memorial Day, especially those, like Pauline’s uncle, who made the ultimate sacrifice.
