City Hall yesterday implemented a new automated passport appointment reservation system.
The City Clerk’s office has been an authorized United States Passport Acceptance Facility since 2006, providing passport services to residents and non-residents.
When the U. S. Postal Service discontinued passport processing services at many locations, Culver City became overwhelmed with the increased demand and discontinued its walk-in service.
In an effort to streamline the process and provide better customer service, Culver City has reopened.
The new system will allow passport applicants to view available appointments on the city’s website and schedule a date/time that is convenient.
For appointments, applicants may visit http://www.culvercity.org/city-hall/passport-services to review availability and select single or multiple appointments as needed.
Passport appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Information and links are on the city’s website. Additional information regarding how to apply for or renew a passport is at the U.S. State Dept. site, www.travel.state.gov.
