Marcus G. Tiggs, a Culver City resident for 20 years and candidate in April’s City Council race, will kick off his campaign with a party/barbeque on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
The event will be at the home of Mike Cohen, 4378 Jasmine Ave. The community is invited to stop by.
For 15 years Mr. Tiggs has served the community in numerous capacities from the Planning Commission (including chair), as chair of the Fiesta La Ballona Committee, and as a leader on the Public Safety Citizen Advisory Committee, the School District Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, the Centennial Celebration Committee, and other groups.
Mr. Tiggs said what sets him apart is his proven leadership abilities in and outside Culver City, his breadth of experience working on various city commissions/committees for a common goal, and time-tested ability to work as a team with others, regardless of differing political or social views.
In his invitation, Mr. Tiggs said: “Come and spend time with your neighbors, community leaders and our supportive family and friends.
“While no campaign can do without financial support, no one is turned away for lack of a contribution.
“We will be serving up delicious bbq, appetizers, drinks and stimulating conversation.”
