Jewish tourists passing through Los Angeles must think this second largest Jewish community in the United States is clinging to sanity by its fingernails after leafing through the hate-motivated Anti-Jewish Journal.
The insecure, anti-religious, hate-fueled far left editor sets the tone for each week’s issue by dropping bombs on each of his political foes. Crudity is the preening editor’s calling card. As with many antifas, he appears incapable of rising above puerile screeds.
In the most recent issue, the stale editor revisits Charlottesville by predictably:
- Attacking President Trump,
- Recycling reams of Nazi hatred – not very different from his own hatred – and
- Absolving the left-wing provocateurs.
Like many, but not all, leftists, he is so unsure of the validity of his simplistic fireworks positions that he seeks to destroy rather than debate foes.
His unJewish editorial coarseness is exactly the opposite posture expected from the leader of what should be – but is not — a prestigious publication.
Committed Jews, traditionalists, have fled the Anti-Jewish Journal in droves. They left because the only weekly of note in Los Angeles scarcely covers the community with a shrug – evidently because staffers, and perhaps the editor, are not involved in community life. It is the Jewish Political Journal instead of the Jewish Community Journal.
Religion is as odious to the Journal as politically conservative Jews.
The Journal believes intermarriage is desirable, that President Obama was mistreated by the media and country and that President Trump is benefitting from kid-glove treatment.
Now that we are in the crucial Hebrew month of Elul, perhaps Jews will get lucky and the drifting editor will drift into a different religious milieu. Let him mock someone else’s traditions.
