The USC football team will try to make it three in a row when the Trojans host Arizona at the Coliseum Saturday night at 7:30.
The 5-3 Trojans are tied for second place in the Pac-12 South with UCLA at 3-2.
Arizona is 5-4 and 2-4.
The Trojans may be without their best wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Their leading pass catcher with 52, he injured his main hand, his right hand, in last week’s 27-21 win over Cal. If he cannot play, 6-4, 220-pound junior D’Quan Hampton likely will start.
Other available receivers are Darreus Rogers, Steven Mithell, Deontay Burnett, Jalen Greene and Adoree’ Jackson.
For the second straight week, USC may need to turn to its running game. They ran the ball 50 times for 185 yards against Cal. Freshman Ronald Jones, who carried the 11 times for 80 yards, was the hottest. Tre Madden rushed for 62 yards and Justin Davis gained 42 yards.
USC’s defense is getting stronger. They held the Bears to 117 rushing yards in 30 carries.
Volleyball
The Trojans’ No. 1-rated women’s volleyball team, 23-1, will play three home games next week at the Galen Center. Sunday morning at 11, they play Utah, Oregon on Wednesday at 7:30 and Thursday, Oregon State at 7:30.
