The Los Angeles Rams have one final opportunity to savage a season that has taken more strange turns than a day time soap opera. The 4-11 Rams, who have loss 10 out of their last 11 games and six games in a row will try to stop the bleeding when the face the 6-8 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at the Coliseum. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m.

The 2016 Rams started the season with a 3-1 record. After those first four weeks the offense and defense could never get on the same page regardless of who was playing quarterback. Case Keenum started the season under center but after four straight losses head coach Jeff Fisher turned to rookie quarterback and No. 1 draft choice Jared Goff. With Goff at quarterback the team has lost six games in a row.

This season the quarterback situation is only half of the Rams problems. Drop passes by the wide receivers, costly penalties by the offense and defense and questionable play calling have all taken its toll on a team that needs to play almost perfect football to win in the National Football League.

A few weeks ago the Rams fired their head coach Jeff Fisher after an embarrassing loss at home to the Atlanta Falcons. Fisher was replaced by interim head coach John Fassel, whose father Jim was also an NFL head coach.

Against San Francisco last Sunday the Rams took a 21-7 lead into the fourth quarter. Although they took that lead deep into the fourth quarter there was an uneasy feeling throughout the Coliseum that the Rams would make enough mistakes to let the 49ers back into the game and that exactly what happened. San Francisco scored 15 points in the final few minutes of the game to beat the Rams 22-21.

“I feel bad for our players who work really hard during the week,” said interim head coach John Fassel in the press conference after the loss. “I respect our players for hanging in there and we have one more week and I am sure they will bounce back and be resilient but it’s tough. When the going gets tough we have to see what type of men we are.”
