UCLA will host the ninth annual Dribble for the Cure, which has raised $1 million in the battle against pediatric cancer,   on Sunday morning, Nov. 6m at the unlikelu hour of 8:30.

Women’s basketball Coach Cori Close, and Steve Alford, coach of the men’s team, along with the UCLA Athletic Dept., will team with Bruin Hall of Famer John Vallely, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and the Cancer Research Program at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA for the event.

The program will start at Drake Stadium and conclude at Collins Court in the John Wooden Center. Registration begins at 8:30.  Inside Drake Stadium, activity booths and entertainment will start at 10.

Following the 10:15 welcome ceremony, Dribble for the Cure begins.

Each participant brings a basketball or buys one at the event. Participants will dribble the 1.2-mile course around the UCLA campus.

At the finish line inside the Wooden Center, festivities will take place along with opportunities to get autographs and take pictures with the UCLA basketball teams.

Student athletes from other sports will also be available for pictures and autographs.

Team (with a minimum of 10) players and individual participants will be asked to collect donations for the Dribble and will be eligible for prizes based on the amount of pledge money turned in by Nov. 6.
