Mr. Eriksson, center, with his son Phillip, right, and Scott Houston, a West Basin Water District director

[Editor’s Note: Vice Mayor Weissman, dean of current City Council members, will be termed out in the spring.]

The April City Council election will be here before you know it, and as we turn our eyes toward the people who will lead our city into the future, I am proud to support Göran Eriksson.  I encourage you to do the same.

Göran is a trusted friend.

I know his dedication, his intelligence and his experience will be an asset on the City Council.

He has been a financial watchdog, helping to make sure Culver City’s fiscal priorities are on target. He has spearheaded efforts to attract and retain the kinds of businesses we want in our community.

He and his wife, Britta, have been longtime supporters of Culver City schools. And he has a long track record of supporting environmental technologies that both reduce costs and protect the planet.

If you know Göran, you know he will make an exceptional City Council member who will always put Culver City first.

If you don’t know Göran, I encourage you to meet him and hear his ideas for the future of our city.

There will be an opportunity to do that a week from Sunday, on Dec. 6, 1 o’clock, at the home of Paul and Madeline Ehrlich, 11472 Diller Ave.

My sincere hope is that many will support Göran throughout the campaign and vote for him on April 12 (or sooner by absentee ballot).
