Regarding the controversy over accepting Syrian refugees:
Much has been said lately about the 1939 plight of 908 Jewish refugees from the St. Louis who were shamefully denied refuge in the United States by our government.
My parents survived the Holocaust in Europe in which a number of my relatives were killed.
I believe the suffering of millions could have been avoided if we had done one simple thing:
We should have assassinated Hitler in 1933.
There were plenty of opportunities, but no serious attempt was made.
It was politically not correct.
The appeasement crowd would have vociferously objected.
I believe the refugee problem in Syria can be avoided:
We should declare total war on ISIS, wipe them off the face of the earth, and send them to hell without their purported 72 virgins!
We can create a no-fly zone and safe zone for all Syrians under the protection of U.N. and NATO peacekeeping forces.
If we do not destroy ISIS, we will have more to worry about than accommodating Syrian refugees.
