In the era of the Obama Ringling Brothers Biden and Bailey Circus, it always is risky to single out one event and predict that it will be the most preposterous story you will read all week. Too much competition.

Riding their favorite racist pony, powerful race-based liberal forces — the clownish North Carolina NAACP and its mawkishly robed leader, crying, bellowing leader Billy Barber, who thinks some sunrises are racist, and the left-wing U.S. Justice Dept., brought the case. They argue that changes in the Voting Rights Act are racist, and they are hoping to restore certain deletions.

Here is where presposterousness walks onto the circus stage.

Liberals charge the changes Republican-led states have made the last couple of years are specifically designed reduce the Democratic turnout among minorities, the young and the poor.

Which of the following adjustments is racist?

  • Reducing early voting days from 17 to 10.
  • Same-day registration is dropped and a 25-day waiting period is restored.
  • Pre-registration for 16- and 17-year-olds abolished.

North Carolina also requires voters to produce a photo ID, but that will not be considered in this case.

How do any of these rules deny normal people?

Same day registration has been a favorite Democrat party stunt for years, which is why elections in some states show that Abraham Lincoln, Julius Caesar, Jesus Christ and Mickey Mouse make the voter rolls.

In this stifling, Nazi-like environment of Confederate flags, Robert E. Lee schools, illegal alien fever and a racist president, the yahoo plaintiffs may well prevail.
