In a bold display of co-dependence, Culver City’s woman in Congress, U.S. Rep, Karen Bass, today is asking constituents to make up her mind:
On Facebook live, she sent watchers to a twitter poll. She wants Culver City and Crenshaw District residents to tell her whether, as a Democrat, she should attend Friday’s inauguration of President-elect Trump since Mr. Trump is not a Democrat.
Known for her independent reliance on others, Ms. Bass said:
“I know what my heart tells me.
“I know what my head tells me.
“But what do you tell me? What do you think?”
If the voter poll ends in a tie, a Bass quandary will be created.
In that event, it was not revealed whether Ms. Bass would attend only half of the inauguration festivities.
If so, which half: The fun half or the Democrat half?
Or if she will come half-dressed.
Or if she will drive or Uber halfway to the ceremonies.
Or if she will attend the whole affair but only tune in half of the time.
Or would she only appear at halftime? Then she remembered it was not a football game. “I must have been half asleep,” she said.
A chef said critically that Karen’s Bass fishing expedition was a half-baked idea. Wittily, Ms. Bass cracked a half-smile, the maximum allowed. Denying she subscribes to half-truths, she said she does not bake.
Ms. Bass said she had half a mind – critics said she could stop right there – to consult her astrologer. But her astrologer was unavailable, honeymooning at Half Moon Bay in Northern California.
