Hispanics and blacks are taught from an early age that they are victims of racist Americans. Second, they must pledge on unswerving fealty to the Democrat party. Otherwise, they are obliged to swallow a poison pill.
Nightly, they sink to their knees and beseech the God of victimology to grant them an attention-grabbing attacker the next day.
Which brings us to the dreary doorstep of one Ruben Navarette Jr.
As a left-wing essayist, Mr. Navarette’s main daily responsibility is to identify and witheringly criticize an observation by a Republican until the tortured, bloodied skin falls from the statement.
Keep in mind that the centerpiece of liberal philosophy is glorifying the least accomplished among us.
Yesterday it was Sen. Marco Ruben’s turn to be punched and kicked by the easily offended and routinely offensive Mr. Navarette.
How ironic, said the seething victim-worshipper, could not believe that the GOP presidential candidate, son of blue-collar immigrants from Cuba, should betray couch french fries by saying priority should be given to highly skilled immigrants.
As an imaginary Latino/Chicano/Hispanic victim of white America, Mr. Navarette regarded the following Rubio statement to the Wall Street Journal as a micro-aggression:
“I’m a big believer in family-based immigration,” Mr. Rubio told the Journal. “But I don’t think that in the 21st century we can continue to have an immigration system where only 6.5 percent of people who come here, come here based on labor and skill. We have to move toward merit and skill-based immigration.”
You are a hopeless liberal if you believe shoeshine boys, busboys, gofers, stockboys and apprentice water-carriers should be screened at the border and allowed in ahead of tekkies and other serious people who will upgrade the country and economy.
Weren’t we taught to aim upward not downward?
