As a result of the final primary vote count last Friday (LaVote.net), the Los Angeles County Democratic Party is holding its first meeting of the new four-year term on Monday. The top seven vote-getting members and their alternates will be sworn in from each Assembly District in L.A. County.
Additionally, officers are then elected for the overall body and each Assembly District. I am running for Re-Election to my position as Corresponding Secretary of the County Democratic Party.
Here is my message to members:
First, I wish to congratulate both the new and returning Los Angeles County Democratic Party members elected to represent your respective Assembly Districts along with your alternates.
It’s an important year with only a few months to ensure we elect a Democrat to the office of president and those down-ballot seats to secure the Senate and take back the House leadership.
I am committed to continue serving you in my role as Corresponding Secretary and Election Protection Co-Chair. I am asking for your support and vote.
Unfortunately I will not be able to meet all of you in person at the Organizational Meeting. I will be in Atlanta at my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha’s annual Boule being honored for 50 years of service.
As Election Protection Co-Chair, I serve with an awesome team of Damien Carroll, Thom O’Shaugnessey, Connie Sullivan and Commissioner John Frierson. Additionally, I am a member of Community Voter Outreach Committee and sit on the L.A. County’s Voting Systems Assessment Panel, which is exciting as we get closer to new ways of voting in the future.
At the state level, I serve as Southern Vice Chair for the Women’s Caucus encouraging women to run for office and seek political appointments. I am also past President of New Frontier Democratic Club and currently a district level delegate to the DNC Convention. This is a small snapshot of my commitment to Democratic values so please vote for me to continue as Corresponding Secretary.
