Letter dated Oct. 27, 2015 to Vincent Kane, Special Assistant to Secretary Robert A. McDonald, Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Good morning, Mr. Kane:

You were brought to Los Angeles by the Secretary of the VA under the auspices of being an expert on Veteran homelessness.

You are anything but that. Everything has been a failure, including stealing the good ideas we have presented.

Your only expertise is to pass out welfare rent checks. That has failed because L.A.’s low-occupancy apartment availability coupled with very high rents.

You have abandoned that responsibility and become a self-professed expert on master planning, another disaster.

You only know how to work successfully at giving dogs carte blanche at the Los Angeles VA.

That is the only thing you have done with VA bureaucratic success — giving Veterans land to the dogs.

On Oct. 13, Michael Shull, assistant general manager of L.A. City Recreation and Parks, sent you a letter regarding the city’s illegal occupation of 12 acres of Veterans land “rent free” for a public park, including a two-acre public dog park.

Mr. Shull boasts about the city’s desire to continue a “partnership” with the VA. He  lists several deceiving suggestions on how the Brentwood Barrington Public Park arrangement will benefit Veterans. It has nothing to do with ending Veteran homelessness. Nothing!

It only will benefit the city of Los Angeles and the residents of Brentwood.

As surely as God makes little green apples, you will come through for the city of L.A.’s bureaucracy to make sure Brentwood residents will “permanently maintain” their public dog park. That is where your expertise lies, giving Veterans land away to the dogs and for public use while keeping impoverished Veterans homeless and hungry.

Mr. Kane, on behalf of thousands of disabled, homeless Veterans, please resign. Go to work for the City of Los Angeles. You already are working for them.

God Bless America and the Veterans Revolution!
