One of a series.
This will be my third year as commissioner of Cultural Affairs. I had the honor of starting the Artists and Poet Laureate program, and appointing Dr. Janet Hoult to be our first poet laureate for our centennial (which begins in September).
In my work with Cultural Affairs I have been exposed to development and developers working here in town. You are all familiar with the tremendous number of projects that are being built here. Nine major projects happening in the next few years, I believe, between here and LaCienega.
In my professional work, I work with architects and developers all the time. I know how to help those developments advance.
None of us loves traffic. We are not going to solve the traffic, but we can help it a lot by making those developments work by creating alternative transportation to and from the train station and throughout our city. I can help with that.
