City Council candidate Scott Wyant and his team have been canvassing Culver City for months, talking to residents/voters.
Says Mr. Wyant: “It has been great to talk to so many citizens — newcomers, longtime residents, renters and homeowners alike.
“I ask them about their concerns, their hopes, and the things they like. Almost everyone agrees that Culver City is the best place to live in Los Angeles County, and that it’s only getting better.”
Mr. Wyant’s campaign has committed to engaging with every neighborhood, talking to voters and collecting feedback to make Culver City an even better place to live.
Many residents are unaware of the latest projects the city has undertaken. Mr. Wyant and his team have helped spread the word about the numerous new programs including:
- The fibre optic network the city is building that will totally transform businesses, homes, and home-based businesses throughout the city.
- The latest development at the Metro transit complex — the Ivy Station, which is already designed to accommodate ride-sharing and van-sharing services such as Lyft and Uber. This development will bring future-oriented housing to the area, along with a much-needed boutique hotel and a mixed-use development that will add to the city’s tax base — without looming over residences — along with more than an acre of public open space.
- The long-awaited completion of the Parcel B project, with its outdoor performance venue, public parking and exciting retail and office space.
- The water reclamation and purification project that Public Works and Planning have engineered under Costco, which will satisfy a large part of the state-mandated water cleanup efforts — at no cost to the taxpayers.
Whether it is 21st century modes of transit, the fibre optic network, entertainment venues, or water reclamation, Mr. Wyant says he knows the best approaches for Culver City to take.
His unique technology, planning, and entertainment industry background provides him with the specific skill sets to confront the 21st century issues facing Culver City.
“Many people have no idea how hard our city has been working for them and for their future,” Mr. Wyant said. “It’s great to be able to discuss these and other projects with my neighbors, and get their opinions in advance.”
