The biggest party of the year in Culver City happens on Saturday night.

From 6:30 to 11:30, Vets Auditorium will be transformed into Centaur Casino as the Culver City High School Boosters hold their 9th annual Casino Night.

Come test your skills in blackjack, craps, roulette and more.

Eat some of the best snack food in Culver City. Purchase Golden Road, Lagunitas and other popular beer.

Indulge yourself on cheerleader-baked desserts or mini donuts in a dessert bar that compares favorably to the best that Las Vegas has to offer.

Enjoy some of the finest wine available, and bid, bid, bid on great silent and live auction items.

Live auction items include the recently added (donated by Amy and Wes Shimoda) Spring Break 7-Night Stay at 8050 Private Residence Club, in Village at Mammoth Lakes. This weeklong stay is from Friday, April 1, through Friday, April 8.

The unit will sleep up to seven persons. A select breakfast at Toomey’s is included.  Other live auction items include suite tickets to the Lakers/Celtics game, an autographed Marshall Faulk football, a gourmet dinner cooked at your home, and more.

The silent auction includes 125 restaurant gift certificates, more than 50 Culver City embroidered pieces of clothing, more than 70 other merchandise items, excursions to Disneyland, the Magic Castle, Magic Mountain, Lego Land, and the Santa Monica Bay, workout certificates, and certificates to take various classes, ranging from floral art to batting lessons.

Over a dozen museums have joined in, donating admissions.  Check out the NHRA Museum, the Huntington Library, the Museum of Tolerance, or travel and spend the day at Newseum in D.C.

Bid on tickets to see David Gilmour or a weekend trip to Sea World, vacation at the Culver Hotel, or catch a comedy show at one of the dozen clubs who donated.

Not interested in comedy?

Not a problem.

Bid on a pair of tickets to the famous San Francisco Ballet or the L.A. Phil.  If you don’t want to see the L.A. Phil, how about VIP passes to the Dr. Phil show.  We have it all.

Better yet, virtually all of the 400 silent auction items are priced at 80 percent of full value.  Get a $100 gift card to your favorite restaurant for just $80.

Original Tommy’s, Tito’s, Pinks – all are  priced at less than full value.  It’s like shopping for gift cards at Costco, but with 20 times the selection, and best of all, all proceeds go to charity.

Interested in purchasing $35 tickets? You may contact any Culver High student.  Tickets are also available at the door at just $35.

Proceeds from the event go to support educational, athletic and extracurricular opportunities for Culver City High School students.

Mr. Zeidman may be contacted at scott.zeidman@laslots.com
