Worry no more about how to invest your precious time until the next citywide election.
Even if you did not realize it eight days ago when the School Board election roared to a close, you are out of the wilderness.
The first candidate for the City Council race – that ends in April – just announced Opening Day for his run.
Three seats are open, and contenders are lining up fast.
Marcus G. Tiggs, a Culver City resident for 20 years, will hold his campaign kickoff reception next Wednesday evening.
Opening Day will find a familiar landing place, the home of Mr. Culver City, Mike Cohen, 4378 Jasmine Ave.
Mr. Tiggs will greet supporters and the curious from 7 o’clock to 8:30.
Mr. Tiggs’s community involvement spans almost two decades. This includes 10 years’ service on the Fiesta Ballona Planning Committee and eight years as a Planning Commissioner.
Mr. Tiggs said Culver City hungers for “proven leadership, fresh ideas, positive solutions and someone who is not afraid to roll up his sleeves to tackle our future challenges without losing the essence of Culver City.”

I served in Kosovo with Mr. Tiggs. If you are looking for a level-headed and sober leader, than Marcus Tiggs is your man. I wish there were more like him. Good luck to Marcus and I hope that Culver City makes the smart choice and elects him to represent them!
Good luck Marcus! I’m sure you will do well. Great to see a soldier in civilian leadership. We need more like you. Check out represent.us
It is a great movement to take back our government from the special interests.
