Since April is Earthquake Preparedness month, the Culver City Emergency Preparedness team and the Lindberg Park Neighborhood Watch have developed a new program, Water First.

It is estimated the average person needs one gallon of water a day. Having an adequate supply of water for an emergency should be a priority.

Water First allows residents of Culver City to purchase 55 gallon water barrels at a group discounted rate. It is being organized by Christine Parra, Emergency Preparedness coordinator of the Fire Dept. The 55-gallon water storage system comes with a barrel, siphon pump, two caps, plastic wrench and water preservative.
