Evlynne Householder, Culver City Homelessness Committee member, and Robinson Reyes, mTanager, Tito’s Tacos Mexican restaurant, load up lots of burritos, chips-and-salsa, and Tito’s tacos for the volunteers doing homeless count.

Tito’s Tacos was pleased to provide a wide array of their award-winning Mexican food cuisine last evening at the Senior Center for the more than 50 compassionate volunteers.

They were tasked with calculating how many homeless individuals, couples and families reside in the Culver City region.

Their concerted effort will provide the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development with a tally of how many homeless folks are currently residing in the community without proper shelter.

The count is conducted so they may receive the proper amount of funding by the government.

Funding will help secure the much-needed resources to assist the homeless to get immediate help and to eventually regain self-sufficiency.

It is undisputable that the majority of homeless people can turn their lives around and become upstanding members of mainstream society.

They can achieve these goals if they are given just little bit of help and understanding from the more fortunate of us.
