Congratulations to this year’s 37th Congressional District Art Competition winner Carl Jean of Frederick Douglass Academy.
We held a recognition ceremony featuring artwork submitted by 91 students from 10 high schools across the district.
We honored Carl as well as second-place winner Cheyann Washington of Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and third-place winner Samuel Rodriguez of Culver City High School. His art piece was titled “More Than Just a Number.”
As our first-place winner, Carl will receive roundtrip tickets to the U.S. Capitol for a ceremony where his artwork will be hung on display for one year.
