Prom Kids Need Help

If there are community members who want to help Culver City High School students feel like a princess or a prince for the upcoming prom, here is news:

Project Prom, run by the Culver Closet at Culver High, is seeking donations for needy students.

The third-year project helps find clothing, shoes, and accessories for prom night. For the girls, hairstylists and makeup artists to help them shine.

For donating details, Adrienne Madrid, career counselor and service learning coordinator at the high school, may be contacted at adriennemadrid@ccusd.org

Project Prom is seeking:

  • Volunteers to help set up and clean up.
  • Clothing —  dresses, tuxes, men’s suits, dress shoes for boys and girls, accessories such as evening bags and jewelry.
  • Easy finger food
  • Monetary donations

Last year, Project Prom served 55 girls, and this year organizers expect more

  •      Academy of Beauty — Several advanced students

  •      Holly Gable, professional photographer (www.hollygablephotography.com) – Portraits and documentation of event
  •      Eunice Vines — Flower donation and arrangements for decorations
  •      Culver City Women’s Club — Donation of shoes, jewelry, handbags, misc. accessories
  •      Janet/Jerry Chabola — 50 sandwiches from Sorrento’s Italian Market
