Culver City has been taking mitigation efforts in preparation for the winter season. There is a greater than 95 percent chance of a strong El Niño hitting the community.
In case of emergency, it is imperative that residents know how and where to receive public safety updates – from the city, the Police Dept., the Fire Dept.
For an emergency, the city has the following systems in place to relay important information to the community:
- Nixle, a mass emergency notification system, To sign up, see www.nixle.com; This system is used by the city — Police, Fire and Public Works — to notify residents and businesses of emergencies and provide information such as for evacuations. It has the ability to notify via phone, text and email.

- Additionally, the city provides the option to sign up for live updates. Go to https://service.govdelivery.com/accounts/CACULVER/subscriber/new and add your email.
