Fiesta La Ballona, Culver City’s Party in the Park, will be held in the weekend of Aug. 26-28, at Veterans Park.
The popular celebration of Culver City’s history and heritage spans three days filled with live music, food trucks, a variety of food concessions, a beer and wine garden, carnival rides, artisan wares, and numerous family-oriented attractions for all ages.
Admission and parking always are free for Fiesta at the park, 4117 Overland Ave.
Last year, Fiesta attracted 30,000 visitors over the course of the weekend.
Fiesta audiences enjoy family-friendly activities, an extensive showcase of local organizations, a weekend dance party, roving performers, and diverse dining choices.
Fiesta promotes recycling and makes conscious environmental choices by being a zero waste event.
Fiesta La Ballona began as a weeklong celebration of the region’s early settlers. It has evolved into a three-day festival that kicks off on a Friday afternoon and closes down Sunday night.
Fiesta is named after the La Ballona Creek, an 8.8-mile waterway that flows across the city.
Fiesta hours are 4:30 to 10 on Friday (carnival rides start at 6) 11 to 10 on Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday.
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Dept. and the Fiesta La Ballona Committee organize and produce Fiesta with the support from scores of volunteers. A variety of local sponsors also help fund and support Fiesta. Information on unique, tailored sponsorship opportunities is available by contacting fiesta.laballona@culvercity.org
