With a Friday deadline looming, they are hoping the community will respond in impressive numbers to their call to stock up on water in the event of a disaster in recognition of National Preparedness month.
Residents have only until Friday to order 55-gallon water containers at discounted pricing.
Convincing residents to buy special containers for water for a disaster that may not happen, tests the most ambitious sales skills of Ms. Parra and Dr. Diamond.
The city’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and the substantive community activist, are co-leaders of Culver City’s Water First program.
Surely they have boosted potential sales with their sincerity, with their unshakeable convictions that storing water for an unpredictable disaster will save lives of families because water is needed more than food and utilities frequently are the firs targets in an emergency.
