In answer to the suspected police-linked death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Los Angeles community organizer Najee Ali will be leading a protest this evening at 6 o’clock at Leimert Park in the Crenshaw District.
Michael Brown Sr., the father of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teen killed last August by a Ferguson police officer, will be the special guest speaker.
Mr. Ali, an official in the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, said of his plan:
“We will march and rally in solidarity with our fellow activists in Baltimore, protesting the police murder of Freddie Gray.”
But the march will not be singularly focused.
“Our rally is to give support to all victims of police brutality nationally.”
