On behalf of the 8,000 realtors it represents, the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Assn. of Realtors announced today that it will support Göran Eriksson’s campaign for City Council on April 12.
“Realtors have a great understanding of our community,” said Mr. Eriksson. “They know what it takes to make our neighborhoods great.
“From mansionization and density to affordability and zoning, our city faces many issues related to housing.
“I am proud that the realtors believe I am the candidate who can help lead our city forward.”
Mr. Eriksson continues to draw endorsements from additional Culver City officials.
Over the past few weeks, Mr. Eriksson has earned endorsements from former Culver City Mayor Steve Rose and from Steve Gourley, who is a former School Board member and former mayor.
“I’m not sure Steve Rose and Steve Gourley have agreed on many issues,” Mr. Eriksson said. “I am glad they have agreed on me.”
In his third year leading the city’s Finance Advisory Committee, the candidate, Mr. Eriksson talked about his image. “People see me as someone who will do his homework on the issues,” he said, “someone who will face the tough decisions head-on, who will put our neighborhoods first.”
Mr. Eriksson recently was endorsed by School Board member Sue Robins. She joins three colleagues who earlier announced their support, Presidenr Steve Levin, Anne Burke and Kathy Paspalis.
Mr. Eriksson has garnered endorsements from four of the five City Council members and four of the five School Board members.
Meanwhile, former Councilman Scott Malsin and his wife, Anne, will be hosting a meet-and-greet event for Mr. Eriksson at their home, 4237 Neosho Ave., on Sunday, from 4 to 6. Snacks and libations will be provided. Children are invited.
