Dateline Gardena — Accelerating the pace at which he is locking down vital support, today former state Assemblyman Steve Bradford, running for the state Senate, earned a sought-after endorsement from the statewide women’s group, Black Women Organized for Political Action.

In announcing their backing, organization president Dezie Woods-Jones said:

“Mr. Bradford has shown tremendous dedication to the issues and values that matter most to our members — advancement of social and economic justice policies, equality, a level playing field for disadvantaged communities and hard working families.

“He has fought hard through GO 156 to assure that women and minority-owned businesses not only have a seat at the table when dealing with investor owned utilities.

“Moreover, his track record as a City Council member and in the state Assembly prepared him well.”

In recent days Mr. Bradford has received a whirlwind of powerful endorsements.

Just yesterday the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People California President Alice Huffman announced her backing.

Previously, numerous Democratic Party heavy-hitters and local elected officials throughout the 35th District signed onto the Bradford team as well, as did hugely influential environmental leaders David Nahai and Ed Begley Jr.
