A special Saturday afternoon program for young adults on the autism spectrum – age 17 and older – will begin in 10 days, on Jan 9.
Called Autism Works Now, the Work Readiness workshop will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 at the Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave.

It is aimed at those who want to learn the skills necessary to gain and keep a job.
Career options, effective email communication, time management, appropriate workplace attire, interview essentials, connecting to co-workers and supervisors, and self-advocating in the workplace are among the important workplace topics covered.
Each session focuses on an important workplace topic that is covered in four meetings.
Three meetings are scheduled in the classroom, lasting two hours.
One meeting is a field trip at the workplace of a potential employer. Field trips location, dates and times vary.
