Managed Career Solutions, having joined Mayor Garcetti’s 10,000-strong Veterans Career Summit initiative, will participate in next Tuesday’s summit, “Empowering Veterans with Opportunities to Lead and Thrive in Our Communities.”
The one-day event at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall and Trade Tech College – from 8 o’clock to 5 — will provide job opportunities for veterans throughout the Los Angeles area.
Empowerment for Veterans will help job seekers and veteran entrepreneurs network with career and business experts. The intention is to connect job-seekers with on-site hiring managers, to provide tools for veteran entrepreneurs to access capital, to develop business proposals and to compete for government contracts.
Managed Career Solutions has 500 job placement opportunities for all veterans including those returning from Afghanistan to transition into the civilian workforce.
“I am optimistic about the job opportunities we have for those who have done so much for our country.” said Esteban Magallanes, president of Managed Career Solutions and a veteran himself.
More than 100 employer partners have committed to hiring veterans over the next three years as part of the program.
By connecting these services, the goal of City Hall and Managed Career Solutions is to help 10,000 veterans find gainful employment. This important goal hits close to home for the head of MCS, who is a veteran himself.
“This ambitious mission to help our veterans is one of a kind,” said Mr. Magallanes. “We urge every veteran to take full advantage of the resources we have available. As a Vietnam veteran of the Air Force, I know every person who has served our country should be given the opportunity to land meaningful employment.”
As part of this effort to find meaningful career opportunities for veterans, Managed Career Solutions has launched the’Operation Biz initiative to help veteran entrepreneurs start or grow their business.
