After a Cleveland grand jury declined to indict the police officer who killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice 14 months ago, U.S. Rep. Karen Bass (D-Culver City/Crenshaw District), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, was furious.
“I am disheartened and deeply disturbed that no officers were indicted,” Ms. Bass said.
“Tamir was only 12 years old.
“Cleveland Police Officer Timothy Loehmann shot and killed Tamir just seconds after he arrived on the scene.
“Officer Loehmann resigned from another police job after a supervisor described him as ‘distracted and weepy’ and ’emotionally immature.’
“Some actually wonder why thousands of people of all colors have united under the banner Black Lives Matter. The lives of black children matter.”
