The Chamber of Commerce invites the public to Breakfast with the Mayor, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 7:30, at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside.
Mayor Jim Clarke was elected to the City Council in April 2012
He was chosen to close out the term of Councilman Scott Malsin, who resigned and sought to return but was clearly denied.
Mr. Clarke was re-elected in April 2014.
He serves as a public policy consultant to Southern California Grantmakers, an association of 450 foundations and philanthropists.
Previously, he was director of the Mayor’s Office of Grants and director of Federal Relations for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who recently announced he will be a candidate for mayor in 2018.
Mr. Clarke also has been chief of staff for two Los Angeles members of Congress – Rep. Diane Watson and Rep. Brad Sherman.
He was executive director of two non-profit organizations.
He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Cal State Long Beach and received his Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.
Mr. Clarke spent 23 years in active and reserve duty with the U.S. Coast Guard retiring as a Commander. He is a graduate of the CORO Foundation Public Affairs Fellowship.
