Pacific Resident Theatre of Venice is extending raconteur Orson Bean’s one-man show until March 13.

“Safe at Home: An Evening with Orson Bean,” which opens on Friday, Jan, 22, at 703 Venice Blvd., Venice, will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8, Sundays at 3.

An undisputed triple threat, Mr. Bean has become a familiar name in entertainment to families all over the country for decades.

His “up close and personal” story gives audiences not only a look into the heart of this multi-awarded entertainer, but into a generation that created the foundation for Broadway and Hollywood as they are today.

Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle member Pauline Adamek “recommended” this production.

Mr. Bean’s “remarkable career…best of all is the ease and comfort with which the man entertains us.”

Mr. Bean starred on Broadway for 20 years, His stage career includes starring roles in the Broadway production of “Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?” (along with Walter Matthau and Jayne Mansfield), “Never Too Late,” and “Illya Darling.”

As a comic, he appeared over 200 times on the Tonight show, 100 times as substitute host.

As a guest star, he was seen on To Tell The Truth for eight years. Mr. Bean appeared in TV cult favorites Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and Forever Fernwood.

For seven years, he portrayed the storekeeper Loren Bray on the popular western drama, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. He recently appeared on Modern Family and played Roy Bender, Karen McCluskey’s husband on the three final seasons of Desperate Housewives. He beat Charlie Sheen with a cane on Two and a Half Men, but “it seems to have done Charlie no good,” says Mr. Bean.
