With the joy of Christmas barely two weeks away, that means the Winter Music Concert is nearly here.
On Friday evening at 7 in the Robert Frost Auditorium, the Pink Elephant Company of the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts of Culver City High School will present its Music for the Holidays, the Winter Music Concert.
Featured players include the Concert Band, the String Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, the Chamber Singers, Sax Ensemble, Jazz Combo.
No shortage of attractions.
The Jazz Ensemble will have a special tribute to Frank Sinatra, whose 100th birthday is the day after the concert.
There will be a live performance of Bruce Bruce, the Hanukkah Moose.
The Concert Band will perform Alfred Reed’s iconic work for wind band, Russian Christmas Music.
The Chamber Singers will perform works including a jazzy version of Carol of the Bells, and a more modern version of Deck the Halls.
