Musical tricks and treats are in store this evening at 7 for the Halloween-themed fall concert of the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Music Dept. at the Robert Frost Auditorium on the campus of Culver City High School.
Admission is free to the family-friendly program.
The concert will feature Halloween-inspired music plus a pre-concert treat activity for youngsters who attend in costume.
Children of middle school age and younger are invited to visit the Frost between 6 and 6:45 for the Trick-or-Treat Carnival.
The Orchestra will perform the Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns while the Concert Band takes on Prokofiev’s classic Peter and the Wolf, with a special guest narrator.
The Chamber Singers will sing a medley of hits from Phantom of the Opera, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Jazz Ensemble will be getting into the Halloween spirit with tunes including Old Devil Moon, Killer Joe, and Mack the Knife — plus the Jazz Combo and Sax Ensemble.
While entry is free, donations are welcome. They will benefit the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts.
