My 2½-year-old granddaughter tells us her favorite colors are pink and purple.
When I asked her which of my flashlights she would like – the red one, the blue one, the silver one or the black one, of course she said, “I would like a pink and purple flashlight.”
So, I searched Amazon for a pink and purple flashlight. Yes, there’s a pink flashlight. And yes, I saw a purple flashlight. But a pink and purple flashlight? How would I arrange for that?
Then it hit me.
Duct tape. Yes, I sent for a roll of pink duct tape and a roll of purple duct tape. How much fun it will be to weave the pink and purple tapes around one of my flashlights.
That is just the beginning. My granddaughter likes pink and purple chairs, and pink and purple everything. So now I get to wax creative with pink and purple.
How about a pink and purple crib? What will she think of a pink and purple tricycle? How much fun it will be taping a pink and purple picture frame.
And what about:
- Pink and purple food colors for those drab Cheerios
- Pink and purple markers
- Pink and purple clay
- Pink and purple sand toys for the park
- Pink and purple origami paper to make, you guessed it, pink and purple frogs, boxes, airplanes, hats
- Pink and Purple dyes for the kids’ tee-shirts, pajamas, socks, sheets
- And how about changing the black trampoline to a bright pink and purple one?
I expect I’ll be dreaming in pink and purple for the next three days. Maybe I’ll dream up some more colorful ideas.
I love doing things to make my grandkids happy. It’s one of life’s great joys.
