Burning Heart Bluegrass joins forces with Chris Cerna and the Bluegrass Republic on Saturday, April 30, at Boulevard Music in Culver City to provide a high-energy evening of bluegrass done right.
Be ready for hard-driving rhythms, hot licks, soaring harmonies, and maybe a few tender ballads, as well.
Drawing its repertoire from old and new bluegrass classics, Burning Heart Bluegrass serves up a genuine bluegrass experience, no gimmicks, upgrades, or additive.
BHB recently has appeared at bluegrass festivals in Logandale NV, Blythe and Lake Havasu.
They are signed up for five more this year. In August they will be sharing the stage with Claire Lynch at the Ford Anson Amphitheatre in Hollywood.
Chris Cerna and the Bluegrass Republic, mandolin wizard Chris Cerna’s newest band, had them on their feet at Blythe with their silky smooth vocals and instrumental virtuosity.
They will be appearing this year at Bluegrass in the Spring (Calico Ghost Town) and the Route 66 Bluegrass Festival in Victorville.
Located at the crossroads of Sepulveda and Culver boulevards, Boulevard Music has emerged as one of the outstanding (and few remaining) independent music stores in Southern California.
It is also a music school as well as an intimate concert venue providing a showcase for the greatest acoustic musicians in the United States and beyond.
On any Saturday night, you might hear a capella doo wop or country blues, Afro-Cuban/salsa or an acoustic Led Zeppelin tribute band.
But on April 30, it’s gonna be all bluegrass.
