VA's McDonald Has Failed Our Veterans

Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans,

Re:  Bob McDonald has failed our Veterans and “Duty, Honor, Country”

Judge S. James Otero claims that he does not have jurisdiction in the ACLU's filing of the temporary restraining order to stop the illegal construction of the Hollywood amphitheater at the Los Angeles VA.  As a result, the ACLU has filed another temporary restraining order with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Note how the VA and Veterans Park Conservancy manipulated, finagled and abused the “rule of law” by purportedly canceling the “sharing agreement” and then entering into a separate “revocable license” to avoid the legality of the temporary restraining order.

Remember how U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman, and U.S. Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer directed VA Secretary Bob McDonald to make the illegal sharing agreement “legal.”

This is as sleazy as it can get. But Mr. McDonald is playing gutter politics to win favor by the wealthy who had plundered these sacred grounds.

For the record, VA Secretary Bob McDonald replaced Eric K. Shinseki as co-defendant with the radical Donna Beiter in the ACLU lawsuit and subsequently absorbed the Federal Judgment for engaging in nine illegal real estate deals.

Shinseki, a graduate of West Point's United States Military Academy was selected as an “exemplar” of “Duty, Honor, Country” by his fellow alumni.  Tragically, he failed our Veterans and resigned in disgrace.  He also failed to live up to “Duty, Honor, Country.”

During his VA tenure, Shinseki repeatedly sided with the corrupt politicians and local VA bureaucrats who bowed to the “wants” of the powerful and wealthy neighboring homeowners at the expense of the “needs” of war-injured and homeless Veterans.

Never forget that this lawless and disrespectful cabal operating under the ruse of Veterans Park Conservancy plagiarized “Duty, Honor, Country” and then desecrated our nation's most noble creed by engraving in stone “Beauty, Honor, Country” on Veterans land.

Sue Young and her arrogant misfits were forced to remove the unsightly degradation they claimed was their “mission statement,” i.e., to beautify the entryway into Brentwood.

Bob McDonald, also a West Point graduate, has followed Shinseki's failed leadership and answers to this bunch of robber barons who will deceive and defraud to take what belongs to disabled homeless Veterans and claim it for their own selfish use.

How could Bob McDonald fail his fellow Veterans so badly by refusing to withdraw his Department's appeal the biggest land-fraud scheme in our Country's history?

Whatever his pathetic excuse is that allows his Department to deceive and defraud to new lows of gutter politics, he has subsequently cast aspersions on the United States Military Academy and all the good it stands for … particularly living up to the creed of “Duty, Honor, Country.”

Bob McDonald puts politics over principles and fat-cat cronyism over Veteran service.

He refuses to accept his Duty to withdraw the VA's Appeal and Honor his Country and the men and women who defend it, by refusing the “Enforce the Judgment” (attached)

This Thanksgiving, tens of thousands of disabled homeless Veterans have nothing to be thankful for because Bob McDonald is playing gutter politics to benefit himself and his wealthy friends.

Bob McDonald has failed our Veterans and his West Point creed of “Duty, Honor, Country.”

“Everyone seems to be much more concerned and
interested in the effects which his actions will have
on his political future than in carrying out the
motto of the United States Military Academy;
'Duty, Honor, Country'.”

― General George S. Patton, Jr.
