I know you all have your favorite restaurants. But let me tell you what kind of restaurants, and things about restaurants, I like.

In no particular order:

1.  I like the employees (waiters, waitresses, maitre d', manager, cooks, and yes, even busboys) to SMILE — almost all the time they can be seen by customers — at least at those times they interact with customers.

2.  I like the portions to be at least normal size — as opposed to skimpy (a carrot, a leaf of lettuce and a very small piece of meat or fish).

3.  I like the bathroom to be neat and clean, with plenty of “nice” toilet paper, towels,and soap.

4.  I like the waiter or waitress to come around often and check on how things are going. I like the service to be fairly prompt. 

5.  I like the lighting to be “adequate” —I like to see what I am eating.

6.  I like free refills on salads. I like great tasting, finger-licking, crunchy food.  I like healthy, crunchy food, too.

So, based on No. 6 above, can you guess my 3 favorite restaurants here in L.A.? 

The Olive Garden.

KFC.

The Fish Grill.
