Memo to Obama: You Can Call Us Names but Not the Bad Guys? Why?

Robert L. RosebrockOP-ED

Fellow Americans:

Make no mistake; the democratic-liberal-socialists are extremely dangerous to your safety and freedom as sovereign American citizens.

Last Tuesday, Commander-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama gave the command to shoot and kill three pirates.

Three days later, the same Barack Hussein Obama released the Bush administration Justice Dept.'s interrogation records and condemned a technique called waterboarding that makes a terrorist prisoner “think” that he may be in danger of drowning.

Apparently it's okay for Barack Hussein Obama to issue a command to blow off the heads of three black Somali teenagers holding one American hostage for ransom in a small raft on the high seas.

But it is not okay for our CIA and our military to pour water over the heads of known terrorists associated with al Queda, the group that killed more than 3,000 of our fellow citizens on American soil, and who would further like to finish the job by killing each and every American and totally destroying our country.

Playing with the Language

On March 19, in her first testimony to the U.S. Congress as Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano never once mentioned the word “terrorism.” She was asked in an interview by German magazine Der Spiegel: “Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?”

And Napolitano responded: “Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word ‘terrorism,’ I referred to ‘man-caused’ disasters. That is, perhaps, only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.”

For Secretary Napolitano, “Islamic terrorism” has become too inflammatory and represents the Bush administration's “politics of fear.” Presumably under her watch though, we can be assured that there will be no “woman-caused” disasters.

Last Tuesday, Secretary Napolitano issued a Homeland Security Department intelligence report that characterized the men and women who protect and defend our nation's unparalleled freedom as “right-wing extremists.”

The report stated: “The return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone-wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

So, it's not okay to call known terrorists “terrorists,” but it is okay to profile, theorize and call innocent American citizens, i.e., our military Veterans, “domestic terrorists.”

It is not okay to refer to the politics of fear when it comes to describing radical Islamic terrorists, but it is okay to refer to the politics of fear when it comes to describing believers in conservative and traditional values as “right-wing extremists and domestic terrorists.”

Wake up, Americans, while you're still Americans.

Please remember the important words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur:

“I am concerned for the security of our great nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within.”
