Look at All of the Reasons You Have and I Have

Dateline Dayton – Since today is Thanksgiving Day, with all of the turmoil in our country and the world, you may wonder if there is anything to be thankful for.

Sure, there are useless killings, hunger, abortion, a dysfunctional government, Obamacare. Even with these and more problems, there are plenty of reasons to be grateful.

• For our freedom, and for the men and women who sacrifice to protect us, we should give thanks.

• If you have family members who care, you should give thanks.

• If you have even reasonably good health, you should be thankful.

• If you’re in a loving relationship, it’s a good reason to give thanks.

• For living in America, even with its problems, you can be thankful.

• If you don’t go to bed hungry, be thankful.

• If you are employed, that’s a reason for giving thanks.

• If you are able to read this essay, be thankful for teachers.

• If you are a church-going person or worship in a religious place, be thankful that you have a minister, rabbi, priest or leader.

• If you have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal today, thank the cook.

• If you have a roof above your head, give thanks.

• For these and the additional blessings we receive on a daily basis, let us give thanks today and every day.

Home Sweet Electric

Update on our condo: On Monday, the seller informed us that no electrical improvements would be made. Our inspector said the electric problems were hazardous. We made our final offer on Tuesday morning, agreeing to pay half the costs of the electrical upgrade. Yesterday, we got word that all the items listed in the inspector’s report would be taken care of. The seller would cover all costs. We have no idea of what changed his position. Our realtor claims it was her prayers. I believe in the power of prayer.
