Veteran Pleads for Help

Letters to the EditorLetters

I live in Ravenna, Ohio, and I am trying to relocate back in my home state of California, preferably in Culver City.

Although I am a World War II veteran, at the moment, the V.A. has a waiting period of four to six months before they can help me.

I need to move now.

My doctor warns me of becoming a cripple if I remain here in Ohio another winter. Especially in view of the Freeze. The pain is something you wouldn’t believe when the Freeze hits my spine.

I am looking for a bachelor apartment.

In my younger years, I was somewhat of a journalist. When I attended El Camino College, I wrote about their football playing. I also did some free-lancing for the Torrance Press. I also was editor of a V.A. tabloid.

My telephone number is 330.297.7427. But let me warn you. My hearing is extremely bad. I have an answer machine. Try and be very coherent in your speech if you decide to call me.

Please hurry. I am booked to leave by plane on Dec. 3. I need to find a place in your area not later than Nov. 15, if at all possible.
