Kicking off three days of celebration with a Dance Party tonight, the bi-yearly Culver City art festival features artwork from 50 Southern California festival artists with a focus on affordable art and artisanal gifts — it’s a convenient locale to begin holiday gift shopping.

Based in Town Plaza in front of the Culver Hotel, Downtown, An Affair of the Arts officially opens at 5 this afternoon.

On Saturday and Sunday, the hours are 10 o’clock to 6.

Throughout this weekend, live music from some of L.A.’s best known musicians and DJs will also be featured, along with live painting from local artists.

Kids and adults can enjoy interactive art projects including the Wall of Peace.

Adults and children will be able to create a piece of peace that will be displayed (along with pieces from hundreds of Culver City schoolchildren) on the green barricade surrounding Parcel B during the festival.

There will be other activities including face painting, glitter tattoos, and magic.
