The Culver City High School boys basketball team will face another tough opponent Friday night, hosting 10-5 Torrance at 7 p.m.

This will be a rematch of the first game of the season when the Centaurs beat Torrance 51-49 in the Mira Costa Pacific Shores Tournament.

The Centaurs are 7-7 going into Wednesday’s game against West Torrance.

If Culver City wins this week’s, they will start Ocean League play with a home game on Wednesday, Jan. 15, against Morningside with a winning record.

The Morningside game will start at 7:30. Their tough pre-season schedule should help them in the Ocean League.

The league will be as competitive as the pre-season. All six teams looks as if they can beat each other. Beverly Hills and Inglewood are 8-7, Santa Monica is 7-6, Hawthorne is 4-6 and Morningside is 4-9.

Culver City is led by Armani Nocolis who is averaging 18 points and nine rebounds per game. Chris Edwards is averaging 15 points and Isaac Girley is averaging nine points.
