What can the Culver City High School girls basketball team do for an encore?

Last season the Centaurs reached the state regionals, losing to Granada Hills in a close game.

Now Culver City wears a target on its back. The pre-season pick to win the Ocean League, Coach Julian Anderson has a solid group of players returning.

They started the season with a 3-2 record. Their wins were against Frederick Douglass Academy, LACES and Palos Verdes Peninsula.

West Torrance and Inglewood inflicted the losses. The Lady Centaurs next game is Wednesday, Dec. 18, against Westminster at the El Segundo Tournament. Game time is 6.

The girls on the roster are Alexis Aquino, Alexis Arancibia, Gwendolyn Machado, Kailey Tooke, Kate Suyetsugu, Katie Lyn, Kelli Tadermaru, Kelsey Ueda, Lindsey Tanita, Megan Yoon and Michelle Curry.
