A magical season that yielded more victories and rewards than expected from a team largely of underclassmen came to a close last night in the north San Fernando Valley, far from home.

The Culver City High School girls basketball team lost at Granada Hills, 49 to 46, in overtime in the opening round of the CIF 2A Regional playoffs.

Granada Hills led by 7 after the first quarter and the Lady Centaurs caught up by halftime.

Granada Hills was ahead by one going into the fourth quarter, which ended at 42-42.

For Coach Julian Anderson and his players, the Dream Season, as it came to be called, ended with 24-7 record and a proud agenda of unprecedented achievements.

The Lady Centaurs went deeper into the season than any of their predessors.
