Elizabeth Rao, a student in the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Dept. Enrichment Class,was presented with her Sho-Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) rank last Saturday by Chief Instructor John Heyl during the Shotokan Karate-Do Class’s annual Beach Training at Dockweiler Beach.
Ms. Rao is a dedicated academic student, Mr. Heyl said. She not only makes time for her study of Japanese Shotokan Karate-Do but also European fencing.
Shotokan Karate-Do has been an Enrichment Class offering since 1985.
